As part of the Arxius Negres: Fragments of an anticolonial metropolis exhibition, curator Tania Safura Adam has organised a series of guided visits and discussions examining how we construct collective memories and share knowledge about communities that often live on society’s margins. These tours and conversations act as a meaningful complement to the exhibition, aiming to piece together a broader collective memory from diverse and sometimes fragmented perspectives. Numerous collectives have contributed invaluable insights to this unique project, helping to bring visibility to these often-overlooked narratives.

This week, the Gustavo Gili will host the final two guided tours led by Tania Safura Adam. On Friday, she will lead a tour as part of the UNESCO Global Forum against Racism and Discrimination, and on Saturday, she will be joined by Agnes Essonti Luque, one of the participating artists in the exhibition. These closing events are expected to round off the exhibition—ending on the 24th of November—inspiring reflection on the importance of maintaining a Black archive for the metropolitan region.
