On 23rd of November 2024, the closing debate of Manifesta 15 Barcelona Metropolitana took place at the headquarters of the biennial, the former Gustavo Gili publishing house in Barcelona’s Eixample district. The debate brought together a diverse group of professionals, including local experts in culture and architecture, politicians, stakeholders, and thought leaders, to discuss the legacy and future of three prominent venues that hosted the event: The Three Chimneys in Sant Adrià de Besòs, Casa Gomis in El Prat de Llobregat, and the former Gustavo Gili publishing house.

These venues, each with its own unique history and set of challenges, were central to the success of Manifesta 15. However, despite their great potential as public cultural spaces, all face uncertain futures. The discussions highlighted the importance of preserving these sites as hubs for cultural activity and social resistance. It was concluded that the future of these venues should be shaped through a participatory process, ensuring that they remain publicly accessible and continue to serve as symbols of eco-social transition, as they did during the biennial.
